So yesterday evening me and Henrik flew to Melbourne. It was a hasty descision, but we both had a great feeling about it. Why Melbourne you might ask? Well, it is colder down south which means fewer backpackers and more "ordinary" jobs. Here we should be able to find work as dishwashers or kitchenhands. Besides it is a very cultural city with a lot of cafés and restaurants, and also a thriving art centre. Both of which sounds very good to me. So for now, goodbye Cairns, we had a lot of fun!

So the flight was delayed and from the 29-something degrees heat of Cairns, we arrived in the 5-something degrees Melbourne, some time around twelve at night. I had as always prepared myself in advance and so I stepped out on the tarmac wearing my jeans and a singlet (Wife beater). It was cold.
After taking the bus to a station very close to the middle of the city, we proceeded to walk to Collins street. There we would stay for the night at a really nice swedish girl's (Emma) shared apartment. She had work in the morning so after a quick introduction we went to bed in our half a coach each (roughly 1 meters and 20 centimeters long).
In the morning Henrik got hit by the full force of what I've been having the last five weeks, and I almost didn't cough at all! We slept in until like eleven and then used the apartments "free" wifi, and my god I can not explain how great it is to surf on a stable and fast wifi! Anyway, after our session we went our sightseeing. Let me tell you, Melbourne is a beautiful city.
Ah. What a mixture of beautiful old buildings and ok-looking new ones.
After sightseeing for a while we met up with Emma and she showed us some of the famous (I had never heard of them) hidden bars. Imagine walking from clean but packed city streets, and suddenly entering a doorway of what looks like a common yet slightly worn apartment building. Taking the elevator to the sixth floor, walking a few sets of outdoor metal staircases to suddenly find a bar at the rooftop! Wtf!
That was far from the strangest place she showed us. One bar was inside an alleyway within an alleyway, into a door than up one floor. The bars were really nice and had nice looking staff and everything was clean, but grungy in a way. Like very, very underground.
After finishing up our tour of four or five places like that we went back to the apartment, made some pasta bolougnese and played some monopoly.
Just before playing however, Emma's room mate said that he could maybe get one of us a job at his workplace. This seems too good to be true, but then again, why not?
Good night peeps. Talk to you tomorrow (or when I'm arsed to write in this thing).

Really think you made a smart move going to the colder part of AU ! Pussar från mor o far :-)
